Vintage Sub-committee Responsibilities-2009(ver 1)

Vintage Buddy System Group 1 -11 Web

Vintage Service and Banq Team

Sunday group will start with a Praise and Worship session- which will include Hymnevotional Prayers,Bible Readings and Sharings.  It will be headed by Doreen Verghese and assisted by Clare Hariff.  Sunday Group will be stricter than Wednesday’s group.  Wed’s group- although we start at 11am, those who come after 12noon –meaning those who miss the prayer and announcements will have their attendance marked in RED. If consistently come late or absent for 3 months- they will be termed as Auxillary Members- meaning no subsidy will be accorded.  For Sunday group, the main door and side doors  will be closed after 1 hour-thus cannot enjoy the activities. If the response for the Sunday group is good, Table Games will be played-this time linedancers will not be allowed to play the Table Games.

Where functions and activities are concerned including fund raising both groups will join hands. Wed Buddy Group starts from Group 1 to 11 and Sunday Group Buddy Group Starts from Group A-H. In fact, the Sunday Group has already started and placed orders of Chinese New Year Cookies to raise funds for the Vintage Group.

Anniversary Dinner.

Although the Dinner at Fortunate Restaurant was well received, there are some quarters who were questioning on the Subsidises.  For your info, Husbands or wives who are not Vintage members paid the full amount of $30 each. All the payees names are now on the board.  Plse go and check if there is any discrepancies.  Kindly let me know and we will put it right.  Generally 9 tables under the Vintage and 3 tables under the Risen Christ Line Dance Group.  There are no outsiders-only 1 gatecrasher from our Wednesday Vintage Care Group who did not pay for his seat-

In fact, we have to thank the organisers- but no! They get blames for favouritisms and what notS! Honestly – plse check before they start pointing fingers at one another. These murmurings are no good for the Vintage Group of Senior Citizens. Let’s have a good image of ourselves- set an example for our grandchildren and children to follow- Not to follow all the loose talks and do not know how to say Thank you .  The organisers really have a hard time to do collections and placing you all in the right ts- or else Hell Will Break Loose with m

ore gossips.  In fact Florence and Betty kept on changing partners, changing seats, and the numerous time and papers used -  Did we ask for credit nor do we claim our typing papers and ink- By the way, after eating all go back, and our Vintage Care Group had not settled the bills?  Check with your president and treasurer whether the bills have been settled. Are you all grateful that someone had settled the bills, you all go home happy and some of you still grumbling?  Is it necessary to have such ungrateful attitudes? Check for yourselves.  Let’s  accord the organisers and planners for their efforts and contributions.  Main members to be given credit although they do not want them or demand for them- Betty Tee, Florence Ng, Nancy Lim and not forgetting our President Cecilia Fong, Table Games co-ordinators, Regina Seow and Teresa Teoh, Christine Chew for the Photos and Doreen Verghese for the pulpit Sharing. Yes! Please include yours truly- for Footing the Bill and still waiting for my money!!Hahhahaha

Let’s continue to journey together to be more graceful, help one another, forgive one another, check on gossips and kill the gossips before it spreads like wild fire with no truths.

Monthly makan

Previously we had makan on birthdays and a small contribution to defray costs- Slowly and steadily we have satans amongst us who are jealous and talked ill and without finding out the facts spread the wild rumours- Eventually the makan is gone and Satan is glorified, thus the innocents suffer.  After the no makan, for a few months, I realised that many of you suffered because of a few bad eggs. Now we have decided to start again to make all of us happy- no need to run across the roads for your lunch and drinks.  We have decided to get packet lunch of $4 each but only request for a small contribution from you all.  We have 2 generous donors who paid $50 and $10.  They want to be anonymous- thus cannot mention names. Yes we will order a few extra packets for those who require lunch.

Again, do not get the wrong impression- we do not force you to pay. If you want to bring your own food – by all means! If you still want to go across the road- by all means. No forcing you to consume the packet lunch.  Yes! We had talked to the spiritual director, Fr John Sim on the above arrangement whereby Vintage will subsidise the difference. Let’s be Happy and Joyful and let the Vintage continue to grow to provide a place for all of us and new members to call it a 2nd Home.  Let’s grow old gracefully and seek support from one another and to pray for those who ask us to pray for them.

One Our Father and One Hail Mary and Glory Be For all our intentions.

11-08.

Our Vintage Group has expanded to include the Sunday Line Dance Group.  Total Strength will be 120-130 from the Wednesday Group and 40-50 from the Sunday Group.  With the blessings from our Parish Priest, all will be accorded the same –All members of the large family of Vintage Care Group. For your info, Sunday group will start with a Praise and Worship session- which will include Hymns, Devotional Prayers,Bible Readings and Sharings. "Announcements"

Thank you to All the Pilgrims and Friends who went to Rawang for the St Jude's Feastday. The 52 Pilgrims had their petitions answered. One of the pilgrims had lost her wallet and anxiety was created. Frantic calls were made to search for the wallet. Credit cards were cancelled. Families members who kept informed. After constant prayers and asking St Jude and St Anthony to intercede for us, our prayers were answered. The misplaced wallet was found. Praise the Lord! Another lady after buying an expensive pair of ear-rings, had left the carrier bag containing the ear-rings in the busy eatery. Discovered that the carrier bag was not with her after nearly 1/2 a day, the group was told about it and we prayed. Thanks the Lord, the alert and honest waitress kept the ear-rings. Over-joyed, the lady danced in front of us! 2 cases of food-poisoning were treated-one went to the doc in the shopping centre in Mid Valley-the bill was 25 ringgit!! Another self medicated and recovered. All the above incidents show us the power of Prayers and the intercessary prayers from the group to our beloved St Jude and St Anthony. This trip we were honoured to celebrate not only St Jude's Feastday but also the birthday of Elizabeth Tan, and the 35th Wedding Anniversary of Andrew Teo and Jenny Lee. Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary. We welcomed Doreen who flew back from US to made this pilgrmage trip. With her powerhouse voice and singing, she created a pleasant atmosphere in the coach. Could not mention all names, but all contributed to a great successful and spiritual journey. Not forgetting our spiritual team led by Matthew and Angeline. Hard work and months of planning put in by Florence concerning the accomodation, sitting arrangement, dinner arrangement, bookings arrangement and the impromptu hotel accomodation. Lucky of me for having an all-rounder spouse! Money manners left to Ever Trusting Betty Tee to administer. For 2009 We have decided to do a Tridium pilgrimage to St Anne, Santa Cruz and St Jude- Any Takers!

Trust my intuition- the above mentioned and at least another 1/2 of the coach will be our first pilgrims to the 2009 Pilgrimage.

1st on Board: Virginia Cordeiro

Howdy, folks!

Welcome to the cyber home of The Bootscooters, a line-dancing group based in the sunny isle of Singapore. The Bootscooters,  originally known as the Risen Christ Bootscooters,  started out in the late 1990s as a small church-based group of dancing enthusiasts, having hot and sweaty weekly night dance sessions in the brightly-lit air-conditioned parish hall of the Risen Christ Church in Toa Payoh. As line-dancing and western pop culture grew in popularity, due in part to the national push for healthy lifestyle and with Radio DJ Brian Richmond at the helm of The Pioneer Country Show, the group grew bigger and shifted its practice sessions outside the church to accomodate a larger member base that included folks, young and old,  from all walks of life, interested in doing the Cowboy Cha Cha and Red Hot Salsa. Feel free to browse these pages and check out our stepsheets if you'd like to practice in the comfort of your own home. And if you have some time to spare, why not come and join us at some of our activities for a bit of rockin' and rollin' plain clean wholesome fun?
