Testimony read by Doreen Verghese at the 6pm Sunset Mass at the Church of the Risen
Christ on Saturday 8-11-08
Good Evening
Rev Fr. Brothers and Sisters in Christ. My name is Doreen Verghese,
a representative of the Vintage Care Group.
Today is our Group’s Anniversary.
I joined the
Vintage Care Group early this year upon my retirement. I am impressed by the way Praise and Worship
is carried out. It’s so prayerful,
meaningful and the hymns are beautiful and lively. Morever, they are
being accompanied by Christine Chew, a very good organist who is also a Vintage
Committee member.
Then there
is also line dancing for the Active Seniors.
I will always participate in this activity for 2 hrs every week. It has helped me to stay healthy, keep fit
and have fun with the line dancing exercises.
Now my Blood Pressure and Colesterol level
have gone down tremendously. My instructors are Richard and Florence Ng, also
Vintage Committee members.
Thank God
,we have a place to go, where members and I can call the Parish Hall our second
home where we can interact and pray for one and another, care for one and
another and age joyfully and gracefully.
At the
Vintage Care, the members and I give a listening ear to the joys and sorrows
that some of the other members are experiencing. We feel so welcomed to the group that most of
the members and I look forward to attending the Vintage Care week after week.
Thank you
for listening.
Doreen Verghese.
